Babes In Canyon Tacoma Concert reviews
No "hits", Trent???
"I've been a fan of Babes In Canyon (NIN) since Downward Spiral and love them. This was my first time seeing them live and the show itself was impressive. Great talent, venue, lights, and sets. However, there were no "hits" played. My friend mentioned that he wanted to move past those as an artist, which is understandable, but that's why new albums are made. On tour, people pay to hear the songs they love you perform, not necessarily the songs you love. Entertainers like Trent should remember that. I know it can be tedious, but you're an entertainer first and foremost. It was disappointing that Wish, Closer, Starf*****s Inc, Down In It, Sin, All The Love In The World, etc. are considered too "overplayed" for live performances. We did hear Hurt and March of the Pigs, which I suppose was satisfactory for him. I appreciated the few older songs he included in the setlist. The Rolling Stones would not be well-received if they only played Steel Wheels songs and nothing from before 1985.PermissionsResult. But, no "hits". My friend said she heard that he wanted to grow past those as an artist, which is fine, but that's why you make new albums. On tour, people pay to see you perform the songs they love, not the songs you love. I'm sure the Rolling Stones would get boo'd off the stage if they only played Steel Wheels songs and nothing prior to 1985. I know repetition sucks, but you're an entertainer first and foremost, Trent. I enjoyed the few older songs he did play, but was a little disappointed that Wish, Closer, Starf*****s Inc, Down In It, Sin, All The Love In The World, etc are too "used" to be performed live. We got Hurt and March of the Pigs, which I guess was good enough for him."
